Gold Coast Region

Stretching along 57 kilometres of stunning coastline, the Gold Coast is best known for its surf and sun, bordered by its lush hinterland. While it remains a favorite tourism destination attracting 12 million visitors each year, the city’s economy and demographic is diversifying. With the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, a new sense of pride has been instilled, creating opportunities for community input from our local churches like never before.

The Gold Coast is the sixth largest city in Australia and the nation’s biggest non-capital city. It is home to 535,000 residents and with an estimate of an extra 320,000 people living here by 2035, we are  grasping the magnitude, scope and meaning of what it can mean to fulfill the mandate of Christ in our sector, and the objectives of our philosophy [see Constitution, Article 3.1-3.11].
